Another weekend!
Started the weekend by meeting my brother at King Edward skytrain station after work. We were thinking of going to Copa Cafe but then ended up eating at Corner 23 instead. We ordered sweet taro cakes, hakka stirfry, and Taiwanese chicken nuggets. I also got a coconut mango milk tea. The staff there speak mainly in Chinese but if you’re visibly not Chinese, I’m sure they’ll make an effort to speak in English for you.
After getting my passport photos done today, my brother and I walked down to Spanish Banks. Took us about 15-20 minutes from our place. He’s getting better at not getting his fingers in the photos now.
Then for dinner he made potato salad while I made Shake n Bake chicken because obviously I am a great cook. Hey, I did cut all the celery into little pieces for him! Originally we were going to make steak by buying pre-marinated meat but Safeway didn’t have any and there wasn’t any time to braise it if we were going to eat before 9pm.

Oh yeah, we tried driving a car2go car and that was fun because I hadn’t driven since December.

If you can spot the fish then you can guesstimate how tiny it is.
Since my fish had like seven babies, my mom was pretty happy happy. And some of the previous babies have grown up and there are four males and one female (about to burst babies out too).
My mom said to me, “oh maah gawd, I think that fish is havin a baby!”
… And so I looked at that fish and it appeared to be a male.
“No Mom, that’s a boy fish, how could he possibly have babies if it wasn’t fat to begin with….?”
At this point she was already caught up into some sort of hype that like all the fish were having babies or something, I dunno..
And so she points again.
“No, look closely, something is coming out. There’s like a bump!”
And so I look again, and there she is pointing at its reproductive organ (aha).
“No mom, that’s part of the fish, can’t you tell? There’s only one female out of all those grown babies and the rest are male.”
So my mom basically stood by her belief until I showed her pictures on the internet. Also, I don’t think a fish gives birth to a single fish for like an hour.

I think in terms in jobs and public services… Rupert is the worst. But there are many things in Rupert that are unique and cannot be replicated else where… Like seriously we have like nature everywhere and in Vancouver you go to Stanley park to for some wilderness fun..
I dunno.. the pros and cons can be weighted out .. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for..
